CereCore is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Nashville, TN. 

Summary:

As a Senior System Engineer, you’ll lead and manage the building and integration of systems and platforms. You’ll provide robust engineering skills that cover a broad range of IT disciplines such as public cloud, general systems, database, website administration, network configuration, and automation.

Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders to create requirements for new infrastructure systems and platforms both on premise and in the cloud
• Lead or participate in a “sphere of responsibility” (e.g. cloud infrastructure lead, development support lead, automation lead, vendor relations, etc.)
• Participate in system engineer strategic planning
• Define project plans and tasks
• Lead or participate in efforts to create infrastructural architecture around new systems and platforms
• Lead or participate in implementation efforts of systems and platforms, delivering quality solutions in a timely manner while meeting defined requirements
• Be responsible for a specific technology stack within the team (e.g. Azure, GCP, Terraform, Storage, MicroStrategy, Atlassian, SolarWinds, etc.)
• Work with application delivery managers and application developers to deploy custom software and create automated deployment solutions
• Provide support to application development teams for infrastructure needs
• Lead activities to proactively maintain and upgrade platforms and systems
• Define and execute operational procedures for systems and platforms in your areas of expertise, preferably with automation
• Work with the DBA team to integrate systems and applications with databases
• Manage documentation of infrastructure standards
• Develop automation capabilities to automate the deployment and maintenance of systems and platforms
• You’ll identify, investigate, evaluate, and quickly become proficient in new technologies and technical disciplines that are of significance to the organization
• Mentoring and coaching junior staff and entry level engineers

Requirements:

• 7+ of relevant experience
• Significant experience in deploying technically complex infrastructure and computing solutions across platforms and components, preferably with automation
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain documentation
• Experience in building automation using tools such as ansible, terraform, powershell, command shell, scripting, database and/or application programming
• Specific platform knowledge in one or more key areas of cloud architecture and/or Application platforms such as Azure, GCP, Terraform, MicroStrategy, Atlassian, SolarWinds, etc. 
• Experience working with virtualization technologies, such as VMWare, cloud virtualization, storage. 
• Solid understanding and experience with operating system concepts and practical implementation of those fundamentals in a large-scale production environment
• Experience supporting custom application development
• Nice to have, but not required, experience with the technologies utilized by our organization: 
  • Cloud IaaS – Azure, GCP, AWS 
  • Cloud PaaS technologies – Azure functions, Logic Apps, Webapps, GKE/AKS, etc. 
  • Automation & System Management – GitHub, Ansible Tower, Azure DevOps 
  • Configuration Management – Terraform, Ansible o Network technologies – F5s, DNS
  • Security technologies - Ping Federate, certificate management, etc. 
  • Virtualization technologies – VMware 
  • Business Intelligence platform – MicroStrategy 
  • Integration Platform - MuleSoft 
  • Application Platforms – .NET, Sitecore, Java, SharePoint 
  • Cloud and on Prem backup technologies – General knowledge 
  • Monitoring platforms – SolarWinds, Dynatrace
